#165. Compassion vs. Enabling

Kate is breaking down the crucially important difference between supportive compassionate helping and enabling bad behavior.

There is a blurry line between the two that is often complicated by personal and caring relationships. But it is a slippery slope, and while no one ever intends to enable behavior in another that is unhealthy, supportive helping can turn into enabling behavior.

In this episode Kate outlines:

  • The difference between Compassion & Enabling
  • How enabling can do harm
  • The relationships where we need to be aware of the potential to become an enabler
  • How we can recognize enabling behavior in ourselves
  • 3 ways we can move away from enabling, and back toward compassion
