A couple of weeks back, I went around and around i A couple of weeks back, I went around and around in circles with AI, making my creative endeavor that much harder, not easier.

Have you been here?

I wrote a note about the psychological traps we can get stuck in that make our work harder when we're using AI tools. You can read my thoughts on www.leadershiplately.com .

I didn't realize how highly sensitive I was, and h I didn't realize how highly sensitive I was, and how along with this I have a very sensitive nervous system.

Long before I recognized these were official #somaticpractices , I had naturally stumbled across all them as simple actions that help bring me back to center.

Save this post, and the next time you sense the need to calm yourself, reground yourself, or reset the overwhelm, try one of these simple acts.

I saw an article on the NYT yesterday titled "Obse I saw an article on the NYT yesterday titled "Obsessing over mental health is part of our mental health problem". I think they might be onto something.

Stats suggest that we're not necessarily perkier at work, but maybe the move away from obsessing over burnout was necessary?

Most of us have been taught to only trust what we Most of us have been taught to only trust what we can see, and measure. The tangibles, the spreadsheet, the data.

This is for sure safe. You are covering your ass.

And yet, when you look at some of the most phenomenal leaders, they often seem to use this other sense, and sometimes they do appear almost magical.

I know for myself, my greatest leaps and successes didn't come from overanalyzing ... they came from trusting my gut, and feeling inspired.

Science is starting to catch up with some of this. Daniel Kahneman speaks about the parts of us that "think fast" and the other part that "thinks slow".

That intuition and gut feel is potentially early pattern recognition, and another sense of knowing that works faster than your conscious brain can keep up.

Is it always? I wouldn't go that far - but it takes skill to learn how to use this "thinking fast" part of ourselves without falling into the traps of dumb biases and miscalculations. But when we can learn to trust and check in with ourselves, we do have a powerful inner guidance system that has a lot more to offer than we've likely been taught to realize.

I encourage you to build the conditions for being able to hear that quieter intuitive voice: stillness, body awareness, tracking what drains and energizes you.
